How I work

I work remotely, meaning wherever you are in the UK, you can access therapy with me. Sessions can take place weekly, fortnightly, monthly - whatever suits you. I offer a free 15 minute session to help us decide if we are the right fit for one another.

What can I help you with?

My experience so far has led me to working with many different people from all walks of life, so there isn't much I've not worked with, however each persons life story is unique and it is a privilege to become a part of your story. I like to work in a way that goes beyond working just with your thoughts, feelings and behaviour, and consider what your body is trying to tell you to. We can work together to help recognise unhealthy patterns in your life, consider what might be holding you back from being the best version of yourself, or it may be that you have something unresolved that you need to work through.

Integrative Counselling

What does it mean to be an integrative counsellor? Well, it means that I don't just use one approach, I integrate many. This helps me to tailor how I work with you, to best support you. It's like having lots of tools in your toolkit.

Rewind Therapy

Rewind therapy is a technique used to process distressing memories or trauma, not erase it, but gain more control over this. It does not require you to talk about the traumatic memory and can be effective in 1-3 sessions.

Other

My experience is varied and expansive, having supported individuals with a range of issues such as trauma, anxiety, struggling with ADHD and/or autism, low confidence, abuse and stress (just to name a few).

How much does it cost?

I offer a range of specialised services tailored to meet your individual needs.

Frequently asked questions

If you've never done therapy before - it's understandable that you may still have some questions. Here are some frequently asked questions and if you are still in doubt, get in touch. I'd be happy to help.

What is counselling?

It is a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with a trained professional. Counsellors guide you to find your own solutions rather than giving direct advice

How is it different from talking to a friend?

While friends are great, counsellors are completely objective and trained in professional listening and psychological techniques. You also don't have to worry about "burdening" them or the conversation becoming two-sided.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. Therapists are bound by strict professional and legal codes of ethics to keep your privacy. There are only rare exceptions (such as if you are deemed an immediate danger to yourself or others).

What should I look for in a counsellor?

Most importantly, someone who is qualified. Look at what training a counsellor has completed. A credible counsellor will be with a registered body such as the BACP or NCPS (there are others too) and will be happy to share details of this. All counsellors should attend 1.5 hours of supervision per month and they should be insured.

What happens in a counselling session?

A counselling session is a chance to talk about whatever you wish – from everyday events, problems and thoughts, to feelings, memories and dreams. It becomes a safe space to look at things in a focused way, exploring in depth exactly how you experience them, what impact they have on your life and goals, and where you might wish to make changes. In your first session we will go through a counselling agreement.

Will I have to talk about my past?

Only at the pace you are comfortable with. While early life experiences can inform why you feel the way you do, you are in control of when and how deep you dive into them.

How long does counselling last?

It varies. It can range from a few weeks for a specific problem to several months or longer for deeper-seated challenges.
